We stayed in Rome last weekend, so on Friday night, a few of us girls took a night walk to the Coliseum. We met a few Italians there, and they showed us the gay community behind the Coliseum. Lots of beautiful men, but none whom were interested of course! The next morning I got up early to meet my friend Chris and his friends by the Coliseum. We literally did Rome-in-a-Day (thanks to Rick Steves). We toured the Coliseum, Forum, and Palatino. We then got lunch and went to the Pantheon. We quickly walked to the Vatican where a tour guide kind of fell into our lap and we got the Best deal because we were students with excellent negotiating skills. It was late enough in the afternoon that we would've missed seeing the Vatican Museum if we hadn't found that tour in time! It worked out perfectly.
Sistine Chapel. Amazing. 1 man. never painted anything before. 20s. completed in 4 years. wow.
Then we saw St. Peter's and had the Best. Gelato. in. Rome. Not even kidding. That night I met back up with them and we did a night walk from the Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona where we got dinner, Trevi Fountain, and then ended at the Spanish Steps.
One Long Day! But it was great and I can finally navigate around the city, no problem.
Our final project was due on Monday, and we presented them to the class. Our next project is to do an axonometric drawing of a street in Rome. Should be fun.
Ciao
