On Tuesday night, a large group of us went to the Ice Bar not far from the Coliseum. This place was literally made of ice, even our glasses. On Tuesday nights it is a $15 cover and an open bar. An Italian/Irish bartender served us vodka cocktails and the place was filled with mostly tourists. They gave us space parkas and gloves to wear too because it was -5 degrees celsius (23 Fahreneit). After about 2 or so hours of being there, it got too cold so we left and went to a few other bars.
The night was so fun that the unpleasant awakening to be on a bus at 8am was worth it. We hopped on a bus to go to Bomarzo to visit the Park of Monsters (Parco dei Monstri). The place was filled with surprising, playful sculptures at every turn. The park was designed to excite the visitor, and it definitely did! We got to meet with Lauren's professor and his wife who have done a lot of research about the park. They took us to their house where we had lunch and hung out for the rest of the afternoon. The house had an amazing view, and it was a very relaxing day.
Today we have been working on our street projects. The girls' apartment is hosting the happy hour tonight, so we went to the market to get food and beverages for the evening. Should be fun!
Ciao!
